Additionally, with use of a shared heated indoor pool and hot tub, should the weather be less favourable or a lazy day simply be the order of the day, guests need look no further than a stroll around the communal gardens and grounds before relaxing in the comfort of the estate facilities.

Peacefully tucked away in a small hamlet amongst the picturesque rolling hills of South Devon, Lower Knowle Cottages consists of 3 attractively renovated barn conversions and 1 stone cottage, all benefitting from delightful communal grounds, an indoor heated swimming pool and outdoor hot tub. Situated at the top of a delightful, gently sloping valley and nestled on the edge of mature woodland, with views across local countryside, Lower Knowle Cottages offers its guests the opportunity to fully shake off the stresses of everyday life, enjoy summer barbecues, quiet picnics in the orchard, excellent walking opportunities and plenty of space to unwind with furry four-legged friends.

Just a short distance to the popular village of Broadhempston, with its two village pubs and local village stores and coffee shop, Lower Knowle Cottages is equidistance between the renowned hidden coves and sandy beaches of the English Riviera and the rugged expanses of Dartmoor National Park, as well as just a short journey to the wonderful historic market town of Totnes.

Bovey Cottage can be booked alongside any of the neighbouring cottages, creating the opportunity for multigenerational families to enjoy their own individual spaces or the perfect set up for larger groups. A max of 6 guests can be accommodated with Teign Cottage, 8 guests with Dart Cottage, 8 with Plym Cottage or up to 18 guests across all four.

There is a lawned garden (not enclosed) with table and chairs and also extensive communal grounds, including walled gardens with bench seating, an orchard and field (perfect for picnics) and a woodland area (perfect for dog walking).

Communal Swimming Pool and Hot Tub: An indoor heated swimming pool and hot tub are available for exclusive use on a rota basis, plus daily shared-use times. This has changing facilities, decked terrace area and views over the surrounding countryside.

Communal Laundry: A shared laundry is available with separate washer and dryer and complimentary washing liquid/conditioner.

Parking

There is ample parking in a gravelled car park approximately 100m from the property. Guests can drop off/pick up outside of the property in the courtyard.

  • Included: Bed linen and towels (guests must provide their own beach/dog towels and also towels for swimming pool and hot tub), heating.
  • Internet and Telephone: High-speed Starlink Wi-Fi available free of charge. There is no landline telephone available and Mobile reception is very good using Wi-Fi calling (please check you have this facility with your provider before booking) but traditional mobile reception is generally poor. Please check with your provider prior to booking.
  • Pets: One well-behaved dog welcome.
  • Electric vehicles: Please note that this property does not have suitable facilities for charging electric vehicles.
  • Short Breaks: Short breaks are available in the low season and mid season if available four weeks before. 
  • Local Facilities: Broadhempston village amenities under 1 mile away - The Monks Retreat pub, The Coppa Dolla Inn, Village stores, coffee shop and Post Office. Larger towns like Ashburton (under 5 miles) and Totnes (under 6 miles) offer many amenities, including supermarkets, fuel stations, fishmongers, delicatessens, butchers, cinema and a great variety of cafes and restaurants.
