Description

Located just off the main village street with its row of pretty thatched cottages and the ever popular Sloop Inn, a short walk through the village from Cracklefield Cottage, and onwards across the 'ham' brings you to the dunes and the fabulous Bantham beach. Paradise for surfers, beach lovers and walkers alike with its rolling surf, vast stretches of golden sand, and beautiful headland walks picking up the South West Coastal Path to Thurlestone and beyond.

The history of the cottage is included in the book  House Histories  by Melanie Backe-Hansen, and written on some old deeds in rather ancient script were the words 'a field called Crackell' referring to the land adjoining Bantham House, and providing inspiration for the later name of Cracklefield Cottage.  Some 200 years old and originally forming one home as part of Bantham House until divided in the twentieth century, this charming and much loved family holiday property is in the heart of the village and part of the village landscape. The cottage is friendly, warm and comfortable, a real family home with a fully enclosed courtyard garden and parking immediately opposite.

PLEASE NOTE: If at full occupancy, this cottage will sleep a maximum of 6 adults (plus 2 children).
