Fiddlesticks Cottage dates in part from the 15th Century, with the older thatched cottage now blending seamlessly with a contemporary newly built extension. Offering luxurious touches throughout the spacious accommodation, and in an idyllic setting with direct Forest access, each of the four bedrooms has its own en-suite facilities for comfort and privacy. Peaceful and full of character, with every small detail considered, Fiddlesticks Cottage is a perfectly sumptuous base for your New Forest holiday. A popular village pub and community-run store are just a short stroll away, and the open Forest offers miles of tracks and pathways to explore.
Inside, there is plenty of space for the whole family, with a stunning dining kitchen, complete with teppanyaki grill for an added culinary experience, along with herbs and utensils for the keen chef! French doors open onto the garden terrace, extending the dining space, with outdoor table and chairs, a barbecue and fire pit to make the most of those long summer evenings.
The older thatched part of the cottage is home to a plush bedroom nestled under the eaves, a comfortable lounge with original beams and inglenook fireplace, plus a desk and a utility kitchen leading off with tea and coffee making facilities, thus offering a self-contained area within the property. Into the modern extension, a bright and airy master bedroom suite benefits from a vaulted ceiling with roof lights and has views over the rear garden, with French doors leading outside. A glorious walk-through wardrobe leads into a luxurious en-suite bathroom with double-ended bath and large shower enclosure. Each of the en-suite bedrooms has been individually designed with comfort in mind, with a pressurised water system for all showers and baths, and an overall feel of a boutique hotel.
The pretty village of East Boldre is surrounded by the New Forest National Park, with free roaming ponies, donkeys and cattle wandering along amongst the quaint country cottages. The Turfcutters Arms is a great spot for a local brew and pub lunch, with dining rooms and open fires in the colder months. A well-stocked community shop and café is worth a visit for those holiday essentials, and the nearby Georgian market town of Lymington has a fabulous Saturday market lining the main street. Other local attractions include the National Motor Museum and Palace House at Beaulieu, Exbury Gardens and steam railway, Paultons Park with Peppa Pig World and the beaches of the south coast.
