Just 2 miles away lies Modbury. Nearly all the shops in Modbury are small, local and independently owned so you can be guaranteed helpful service with a smile. Modbury itself can be explored via a series of excellent and interesting circular walks around the town.
The beaches at Bigbury-On-Sea and Bantham are easily accessible and both very popular surf destinations. Thurlestone, near Kingsbridge, is a very popular chocolate-box village of thatched cottages, with an impressive golden sandy beach backed by rolling farmland and National Trust parking. There is golf and fishing nearby, as well as beautiful views towards Dartmoor National Park, a haven for walkers and nature lovers.
